Internationally-acclaimed shoe designer, Freya Rose, launched her new limited edition shoe style, Luna (£495) in time to celebrate June’s birthstone, the pearl, via a social media lockdown design collaboration. Only twenty pairs of each of the two designs have been created, with all profits being donated to UK children’s charity Together for Short Lives.
Freya was determined to bring positivity to brides experiencing the cancellation of their weddings during the first UK lockdown, with over 320,000 UK weddings having now been cancelled or postponed since March 2020. Reaching out to the Freya Rose community, Freya challenged her social media followers to design their perfect shoe and vote to realise their favourite design.
Freya was especially moved by the winning design, created by Hannah Kemsley, which conjures a sense of how ‘we’re all connected when we look up at the stars’. Contrasting to the anxieties and loneliness caused by the pandemic, the celestial Luna design emphasises a deep connection and resonance with the natural world, allowing wearers to derive a sense of comfort after a turbulent period.
Accompanying the Luna shoe are the mother of pearl gold star earrings (£75). These elegant and timeless designs transition seamlessly between daytime looks and eveningwear occasions, making them perfect as we return to offices in greater numbers.
With HRH The Duchess of Cambridge recently choosing to wear Freya Rose mini hoops with detachable pearls (£95) from the new collection, Freya’s stylish designs are sure to elevate any jewellery wardrobe. Check out more designs from Freya now at freyarose.com.
