Diaries at the ready. New dates have now been confirmed for northern Europe’s key bridal trade show, which will now take place in the halls of Messe Essen, 19-21 June.
Exhibition organisers United Fairs who, against all odds, produced a highly-successful show in 2020 – one of the very few that came into fruition as a live exhibitor-retailer expo – has worked closely with government and the highly-respected venue operators again to ensure top-notch safety regulations are in place.
Many internationally-recognised names have already signed up for this key event, originally planned for April this year, and have expressed delight with the additional time they now have to prepare their new collections – their best ones yet, they say – as they look forward to emerging from the challenging climate of 2020.
All markets and industries have suffered throughout the months of the global pandemic but now, with increased vaccinations in place and more help being made available to businesses, the world is approaching the future with cautious optimism. And couples who have had to put their wedding celebrations on hold are now looking forward to the possibilities that will open up.
From interviews with brides-to-be and retailers specialising in weddingwear, it is apparent that there has been a lively interest in bridal fashions across the past two seasons – despite the lack of weddings – with social media feeds on the part of design houses keeping consumers in the loop about forthcoming trends. Many couples are now more determined than ever to have that special celebration in style and with the best of everything, and that is excellent news for the industry as a whole.
Says James Ellis: “The past year, however challenging, has allowed us time to reflect on what we value and has highlighted more than ever how much we all rely on each other and reminded us how lucky we are to be in such a wonderful industry. European Bridal Week is the first show back on the bridal calendar and we are excited to be unveiling the 2022 Kelsey Rose and Ellis Bridals collections there.”
As retailers are fast to register for the three-day event, so design houses are booking their stands. Just a few of the many hundreds of labels to see at this show include Monica Loretti, Eddy K, Lilly, Christian Kolhert, Sposa, Bianco Evento, A Bela Noiva, Amelie, Luxuar, and Venus Bridals.
